Justin's "Small Town" Party
Justin Moore celebrated his very first Number One hit, "Small Town USA," with a party in Nashville on Monday (October 26th). Friends and members of the music industry gathered at performing rights organization BMI for the celebration, during which Moore and his band performed.
Moore told us that even though he co-wrote "Small Town USA" he initially had reservations about releasing it as a single. "I had no idea that it was gonna be as universal a thought as it was. When the record label wanted to put it out I thought, 'Man, I don't know if enough different types of people can relate to this song,' and thank goodness I was wrong! (laughs)"
The singer shared his immediate reaction to news of the Number One: "I'm always, like, a chart watcher, even though I try not to be, so I was freakin' out, obviously, and then about a day before we kinda had a pretty good idea that it was gonna do what it did, so it was pretty awesome! I drank a little bit of Jack Daniels to celebrate, so..."
Moore's new single, "Backwoods," is climbing the charts.
He will join Brad Paisley for the 2010 leg of his American Saturday Night tour.
