Martina On Oprah Again
Martina McBride is becoming a regular on The Oprah Winfrey Show. She will make her second appearance there in barely a week tomorrow (Tuesday, November 3rd). Last Monday, Martina performed on the show from the State Fair of Texas. That segment was taped two weeks ago, however this time Martina takes Oprah to her homestate of Texas. Both segments were done with only a couple days notice to Martina.
Tomorrow's show theme is celebrities' first jobs. Martina takes the talk show queen to the Dairy Queen where she served up ice cream and burgers back in the day in Hutchinson, Kansas, Dairy Queen which is still owned by the same couple who employed Martina after high school.
Martina said, "Getting the call to be on Oprah's show twice in such a short time period was exciting. I've done Texas and Kansas ... maybe Oklahoma is next."
The Shine All Night tour, featuring Martina and Trace Adkins, kicks off November 20th in Moline, Illinois. The tour will stop in 40 cities across the U.S. through the spring of 2010. She'll bring the tour to Birmingham on December 13th with Blake Shelton standing in for Trace Adkins.
Martina is nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, an award she has already won four times, tying her with Reba McEntire for the most wins.
The 2009 CMA Awards will air November 11th on ABC at 7 p.m. CT.
On a side note... Martina recently taped a segment in Nashville for In The Spotlight With Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Big Stars. All Access Nashville. The ABC special will air November 10th at 9 p.m. CT.
