Play On In Stores Today

Great photos from Carrie's Play On photoshoot...
Carrie Underwood's third CD, Play On, hits retail outlets today (Tuesday, November 3rd). Carrie co-wrote seven of the 13 songs on the CD, something she tells us is definitely an inlet for fans who want to get to know her. "Out of the the three albums that I've done, I feel like this album, somebody can listen to it and get more of a sense of who I am. They can listen to certain things and be like, 'Oh my gosh! This is really sincere, this is really emotional, and this comes from... she was a writer on it so this comes from something that was deep inside of her heart.' I do feel like people can get to know me a lot better from Play On."
Carrie said the new CD also presented some new challenges for her. "I do feel like I have grown so much just as an artist on this one. I mean, there were times in the studio where, I mean, I was actually probably more frustrated than I've ever been in the studio in a good way. It was a challenge trying to find my place in some of these songs and how I wanted to sing them, and I'd sing and I'd be like, 'Oh, that's not right, that's not right!', and we'd have to take a break and I'd have to like think about it and try to figure out, you know, myself in the song."
Play On has already produced a Top Five hit with "Cowboy Casanova."
Carrie will be in New York City this week to promote the new release. She will perform on ABC's Good Morning America this morning. On Thursday (November 5th), she will pay a visit to Live With Regis & Kelly. Check local listings for times.
Carrie and Brad Paisley will co-host the CMA Awards on November 11th. The show will be broadcast live from Nashville on ABC.
