Paisley Charts 15th #1
Brad Paisley earns his 11th consecutive Number One single this week on the Mediabase chart with "Welcome to the Future." The song is the second chart-topper from Brad's latest CD, American Saturday Night, which is nominated for Album of the Year at next week's CMA Awards.
"Welcome To The Future" looks at just how far we've come technologically. The last verse talks about Barack Obama winning the presidency last year, something Brad tells us initially caused a bit of controversy. "You know, I caught a little bit of flack from some people that didn't quite understand, that thought maybe for a second I was getting political with this song, and I explained, 'I'm not. This isn't that.' This is my tribute to the emotions of November 4th... just that verse."
Brad has a total of 15 Number One hits to his credit.
He debuted his new single, "American Saturday Night," on David Letterman last night (Tuesday, November 3rd).
In addition to co-hosting the CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood on November 11th, Brad is nominated for seven awards, including Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. The CMA Awards airs live from Nashville on ABC at 7 p.m. CT.
