Carrie Bows To Reba
Carrie Underwood's nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year at Wednesday's (November 11th) CMA Awards pits her against Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, and one of her musical idols, Reba McEntire. Carrie tells us that even being in the same category with Reba is reward enough. "Honestly, to be nominated with Reba - oh my gosh, like, oh my gosh!! It's a dream come true. I never would've thought I'd be nominated with Reba McEntire for anything, so that one's definitely... I won already (laughs). That's good. That's good enough for me. I can die now! (laughs)."
Carrie has taken home the Female Vocalist trophy for the last three years. If she wins it again this year, she will be in an elite group with Reba. "I didn't know until people started sayin' if I do win Female I'll be tied with Reba and Martina, which are, of course, two women that are extremely talented, extremely strong, extremely beautiful, and people that I've always looked up to, so that would be amazing."
Carrie will co-host the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley. The show airs live from Nashville's Sommet Center on ABC beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
On Tuesday (November 10th), Carrie and Brad will perform a free concert outside the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville. The performance will be broadcast live on Good Morning America.
