Womack Added To Strait Tour
Lee Ann Womack has been added to next year's George Strait tour with special guest Reba McEntire. The arena trek kicks off on January 22nd in Baltimore, Maryland and runs through April 10th in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lee Ann has long been a fan of George's and toured with him multiple times as part of his Country Music Festival. She has recorded with the "King" of country music and even developed a friendship with him over the years, but Lee Ann says no one humbles her more than George. "There are times I think in people's careers when they go through those hot spells or whatever. And you think, I'm rockin', I'm doing good, you know. And then you get around George Strait and you think, 'Man, I'm nothing' (laughs). He's just so huge, and people just go crazy when he walks into a room or when he walks out on stage. There's nothing that will humble you quicker than being in his presence, because it's like 'Lee Ann who?'"
While thrilled about the tour, Lee Ann is already having wardrobe issues. She joked, "I'm trying to figure out what to wear, cause you can't out-starch George and you sure can't out-spangle Reba!"
Lee Ann and George were nominated for Musical Event of the Year at last week's CMA Awards for "Everything But Quits."
The two won that award in 2005 for "Good News, Bad News."
