Another deer from the Howells!!! They should carry Benjie!
Ok, he did it again and this time it is really a trophy. Woody Howell killed this record eight point with his bow on November 4th 2006 at his hunting land in Marion County. No great tracking story this time just a great deer. Pictured again with him are Kayla Jane and Haley two of his biggest fans!

Woody Howell of Trussville, AL killed this 10 point with his bow October 21, 2006 in Marion County. Pictured with him are two of his daughters, Haley and Kayla Jane. This is the biggest deer he has ever killed with his bow. He shot it Saturday morning and did not find it until Sunday around lunch. He and his son Rhett tracked it for two days before hearing coyotes and seeing a buzzard that led them to the deer.

My husband, Leslie and my son, Hunter went hunting the weekend of October 20, 2006. They went to Mentone which is where they always go to hunt. Hunter had told his Dad more then once on the way to the mountain that he wanted to take a rabbit. When they were out on Saturday they were lucky enough to jump a rabbit. My husband quickly took out an arrow and took aim and got the rabbit. Hunter was beside himself. Leslie let Hunter take his bow and take a shot at the rabbit so he could be a part of what he wanted so bad! I have never seen a more proud father or son. They thanked God for giving them one of his creatures and took it back to camp so Hunter could show off his "trophy." Leslie will tell you that getting that rabbit and seeing Hunter get so excited was better then getting the largest deer out there. Even though deep down Leslie still wants that! Enjoy!
Thanks
Sonya Mitchell (The proud Mama!)

This fish was caught on a cold pre-spawn day, around noon on March 6, 2006 - Fish was caught on a 7 1/2 inch long, Red Shad, Ribbon tail worm rigged Texas style with a 3/8 oz lead weight. My friend Butch catches them on 12 in worms but my son and I have had great success with the 7 1/2 length.
Be well. Be blessed.

When we spent a week camping at the lake in Guntersville, my husband, my dad, my 4-year-old niece Jordan, my sister Jennifer, and my brother-in-law Brad all went fishing. Jordan caught her first fish. Man that little girl can cast her own rod and pulled the fish ashore on her own. Kari, you will understand this, she was fine with it until it flopped around too much, then she look at Brad and said "Get it off, now! Daddy."
Here is the picture of Jordan with her first fish.

"I have a 14 year old daughter who loves to hunt and fish! I just wanted to share a couple of her trophies for your trophy page. She is just beginning her freshman year at Sylacauga High School. In her pictures you will see a nice 8 point killed December 2005 in Coosa County and a 6 lb catfish caught July 2006 in Shelby County. All the guys at school really give her a hard time because she had done more hunting and fishing that most all of them. I am very proud of my hunter.
I did include a picture of her dad, too. He killed a really nice 8 point also in Coosa County last hunting season. Chris Payton, Sylacauga, AL and daughter Lacey Payton also of Sylacauga.
I hope these make your trophy page!
Thanks and Have a Great Day!
Jamie M. Payton"

Benjie's son Josh won the academic award of excellence from Munford Elementary.
"I'm so proud of him! Of course, the only thing I can spell on my son's award is his name."

Hi Benjie,
I know you have your trophy section so I thought I would brag on my son Ethan, a 6th grader at West Elementary School in Cullman. He killed this mule deer in Texas on Thanksgiving day of this year (he was 11 at the time). It weighed 300 lbs. and he shot it at 150 yds away. Pretty cool, huh?

"I shot him Sunday, January 22nd, about 6:45 a.m., I was in Tripod on a dirt road and he came out from behind me crossing the road and that's where he screwed up his morning. He is a 12pt. with a drop tine, 5 1/2 in. at base, estimated to be 4 1/2 years old, weighed out at 185lbs. Biggest deer shot on the land we are hunting and, although the men got excited, it burns them up that a women shot it!!!!"

Wendy Gardner sent us this picture of a 4lb. 1oz. crappie her boyfriend Chad Lee caught on Bear Creek. Good going, Chad. And thanks for the pic, Wendy!

Benjie shows off his "near-trophy" bass he caught last summer. Uh, yeah, nice one Benj. Now let's see a real fish...

And here it is...
Mr. Dyess is seen here proudly displaying his record-breaking catch. He caught this 65 lb. paddlefish at Wilson Lake, breaking the state record by 13 pounds! Last one was sighted in 1982 and was only 19 inches long!
