So, When it comes to unforgettable Super Bowl moments, Chris Stapleton’s rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at LVII is the stuff of legends. Even two years later, fans can’t get enough of it, and neither can the NFL, which is still reeling from that electrifying performance. With sunglasses on and a guitar in hand, Stapleton delivered a performance that had grown men wiping away tears. It was so good that pop star Pink has even asked why anyone else would dare sing the National Anthem again!

As Super Bowl LIX approaches, the NFL took to social media to remind everyone just how awesome Stapleton’s anthem was, juxtaposing it against the upcoming rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Sure, R&B singer Jon Batiste will have the honor this year, but trying to follow Stapleton’s mind-blowing performance? That’s a tall order! It’s like being the chef who has to cook after Gordon Ramsay, only to realize the diners were actually still dreaming about his last five-star meal.

While Stapleton’s performance left a lasting legacy, it begs the question: how does someone even compete with that level of artistry? The NFL’s nostalgia trip has made it pretty clear—chances are, even Jon Batiste’s stellar talent won’t be enough to topple the King of the Anthem, who’s probably still rocking out somewhere with that powerful voice of his. Here’s hoping that Batiste can at least keep fans entertained—maybe even get a few of them to let go of their memories of Stapleton for just a moment.
