Country legend Willie Nelson has won GRAMMY’s, ACM Awards, CMA Awards – he’s received just about any honor a performer of his status can receive – but you can add one more (odd) one to the list.

He’s had a just-discovered species of grasshopper named after him.

Scientists discovered the flightless insect in Texas — where the veteran singer and actor was born 90 years ago. For the last five years, Dr. JoVonn Hill — a country music fan — and his colleagues have made scientific expeditions to the area. “Melanoplus nelsoni,” they called it – and Willie wasn’t the only Texas musician so honored; the late Jerry Jeff Walker was honored as well, with “Melanoplus walkeri.”

“Melanoplus nelsoni and Melanoplus walkeri immortalize the enduring contributions of these legendary musicians and their connection to Texas,” said Dr. Hill, according to SWNS.
