Just gonna put this out front – I am new to the KW camp. Here at WZZK -, I hear so much music, and this week I am all in with this artist. Koe Wetzel and Jessie Murph are hitting all the right notes with their latest duet “High Road.” This catchy tune from Koe’s upcoming album *9 Lives* has stormed the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at an impressive #29. Not only does this mark Koe’s and Jessie’s highest-charting song ever, but they are also proving that a duet can actually double up on the love from fans.
“High Road,” a collaboration with Amy Allen, Carrie Karpinen, and producer Gabe Simon, sees Koe taking a literal and metaphorical high road in a turbulent relationship. It’s all about cooling off and finding zen (and yes, that might involve a little gettin’ stoned). According to Koe, this song shows a more mature side, a grown-up evolution in his music. Who knew growth involves a bit of R&B flair with his unique rock-infused Texas country style?
The momentum doesn’t stop here for Koe as he gears up to drop *9 Lives* on July 19. Already packed with hits like “Sweet Dreams,” which previously charted at #47, the album promises a fresh batch of tunes to keep his fans on their toes. Koe Wetzel’s latest project is shaping up to be a game-changer, and “High Road” is just the beginning.
Whether you’re a long-time fan or new ( like me) to the Koe Wetzel ride, strap in—this is going to be an album full of twists and turns. And if “High Road” is any indication, it’s bound to be one wild, chart-topping journey.
